The Boston University International Affairs Organization, known affectionately as BUIAA, is the largest student organization on Boston University's Charles River campus and maintains both a focus on global affairs and an affinity for community service in the Greater Boston area. BUIAA is home to a diverse group of students from all schools and colleges within BU, and presents those involved with a myriad of opportunities to engage in, including multicultural events and educational opportunities within the world of foreign affairs at large. Additionally, BUIAA holds weekly meetings that can take the form of discussions, simulations, debates and much more.

The mission of Boston University’s International Affairs Association is to attract students of different and unique backgrounds and talents to learn about foreign affairs, lend a hand to the Greater Boston Area through community service, and to grow as determined and passionate global citizens who are aware of their own power to actively make a difference in the world. We strive to be a welcoming and inclusive community, respectful of all beliefs and backgrounds – we want every individual to be heard. BUIAA is comprised of six different branches: Civic Teachers, the International Relations Review, the Model UN Travel Team, BarMUN, BosMUN, and Global Insights, all of which work hand-in-hand to further BUIAA’s mission throughout Boston University. We teach professional skills such as networking and debate and provide members with four years of valuable experience in the world of international relations.

If you're interested in joining any of our branches here at BUIAA, check out our calendar for the times and locations of our meetings! Alternatively, feel free to email us at iaa@bu.edu with any questions you might have!
