Welcome to the International Relations Review

Founded in 2009, the International Relations Review (IRR) is a premier journal of international affairs written, edited, and published by undergraduate students at Boston University. The journal challenges readers to engage with issues underrepresented in the international community and explore nuanced insights of the world’s next generation of leaders, thinkers, and policymakers.

Under the direction of Andrew Facini (CAS ‘10), the first issue had 12 pages and included four student articles, six photos, and an editorial piece. Today, the IRR publishes bi-annual print issues covering original research, policy recommendations, book reviews, and opinion pieces. Each issue is read and reviewed by a global network of scholars, practitioners, leaders, and students committed to advancing human progress and approaching tomorrow’s challenges with thoughtful, interdisciplinary lenses. Outside of print content, the IRR also hosts a flagship podcast, In Relation To, and publishes a consistent collection of digital commentary in the IRR Online at IRReview.org.

With a staff of 75+ students and an alumni network of 1,000+, the International Relations Review offers abundant opportunities to connect with other students and the larger international relations community of BU and the world beyond.
